Transient Eden
Transient Eden is a series that was created from October of 2023 - February of 2024. The series aims to explore distortion, disillusionment, detatchment, and isolation in a suburban setting using experimental photographic techniques.
ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) is used throughout this series to craft a visual narrative that increasingly warps reality and emphasizes disconnect. Some photographs are near total abstractions, while others are more grounded in objectivity. Each image uses movement to transform normal scenes and subjects into an “alternate reality” -- focusing on the manipulation of form, silhouette, and texture to redefine what is “real”.
This series aims to evoke a sense of distance and discomfort, turning familiar landscapes and scenes into ones that are increasingly abstracted, formless, cold, and alien.
